Remembering

If ever you’re planning on mastering the art of studying, you must first need to master its basics.  One of the most basic principles of studying is memorization.  A lot of people tend to fear this since they feel that they don’t have what it takes to remember loads of information in a given time.  To be honest, memorization and memory recall are the most basic forms of studying.  There are several things that can help you out in your memorization sessions.

Repeat, Repeat, and Repeat Some More

This is probably one of the most important things that you should do in order to make sure the information you are trying to memorize is stored in your memory.  Whenever you think of something over and over, your brain will most likely look at it as an important piece of information, thus storing it in the deeper portion of your memory.

Write Things Down

Another tip that would help you remember important information would by writing them down.  You are consciously writing things down, and your body becomes actively involved in memorizing and not only your brain.  This is actually a good tip when you want to remember important pieces of information during class.  You won’t be able to help but remember the things that you’ve written down during your class, and it is also a good strategy when studying.

Say It Loud

Pretty similar to writing things down on a piece of paper, saying things out loud helps you in the memorization process.  For one thing, you’ll be able to hear your own voice, and the more of your body parts get involved in the process, the better you’ll remember the things you want to.  If you really want to make sure that you remember a piece of information, you can do these things simultaneously.  You can read, write and recite what you are memorizing in order to be more effective.

Make Up a Story

When you are memorizing a chain of things, you can easily recall these things if you make up a bizarre story about them – the more ridiculous, the better.  This will not only help you out in recalling information, but it will also be able to help you out in pointing them out in a chronological order.  Another good thing about this is that you might even have fun while memorizing due to the chaining of items in your story.
